Summer 2026
Summer cakes and party bakes
Wedding season, garden parties, and birthdays that finally get to happen outdoors. Tiered cakes, cupcake towers and grazing tables, made to order and delivered across Peterborough and the PE postcodes.
(shade is a serving suggestion)
Weddings need months, parties need weeks
A wedding cake wants two to three months, and the rum-soaked fruit cake wants a minimum of three months because the fruit soaks that long. A garden party cake wants about two weeks. Summer Saturdays go first.

The summer menu
Tell me what you would like and roughly how many you are feeding, and I will come back with a price and confirm your date. Collection in Peterborough is free; local delivery is priced in your quote.
Centrepieces
Tiered wedding cakes
Delivered and set up at your venue. 30 to 150+ guests.
Rum-soaked fruit cake
Dried fruit soaked for months. Book it early or not at all.
Cupcake towers
Feeds a garden without anybody needing a knife.
For a long afternoon
Grazing table
Filled with my own baking, sweet and savoury, quoted on guest numbers.
Brownies and blondies
Cut into squares, and they hold up better outdoors than anything creamed.
Cookie boxes
Vanilla and lemon zest butter cookies, for take-home favours.
Cake in the heat, honestly
Buttercream and direct sun do not get on. If your cake is going to sit outside in July, keep it in the shade until you cut it and do not put it on a table in front of a window all afternoon. I would rather tell you that now than have you find out at three o'clock. Fondant holds up better than buttercream outdoors, and a fruit cake will outlast everybody.
Weddings
I take a small number of weddings a year so each cake gets proper attention, and tiered cakes are delivered and set up at the venue rather than handed over in a box. Tastings are part of it. Tiers, cupcake towers and the rum-soaked fruit cake are all on the table; the fruit cake needs a minimum of three months of notice, which sounds dramatic until you taste it.
Parties and long afternoons
Cupcake towers travel better than a tiered cake and feed a garden full of people without anyone having to cut anything. A grazing table does the same job for a party that runs from lunch into the evening: sausage rolls, pies, choux puffs, brownies and cookies, filled from my own baking.
Summer 2026
Cake for the long, bright months.
Write to me with what you would like, how many you are feeding and the date you want it. I will confirm the lot and send a price. Seasonal orders are taken in small numbers so everything is baked in the week you collect it.
Summer ordersSummer questions
How far ahead should I book a summer wedding cake?
Two to three months for a tiered cake, and a minimum of three months for the rum-soaked fruit cake, because the fruit soaks that long. Summer Saturdays are taken first, so earlier is better.
Will buttercream survive an outdoor summer party?
It will if you keep the cake in the shade until you cut it. Direct sun is what does the damage. Fondant copes better outdoors than buttercream, and a fruit cake copes with anything. Tell me where the cake will be sitting and I'll steer you.
