Easter 2026
Easter bakes and hot cross buns
Hot cross buns by the batch, glazed straight out of the oven, plus cakes for the long weekend. The bank holiday fills up early, so this is one to ask about in March.
(a bun that keeps all week is doing something wrong)
Ask in March
Easter is four days when everyone is feeding everyone, and buns come out of the oven in batches, so the order list closes earlier than people expect. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable.

The easter menu
Tell me what you would like and roughly how many you are feeding, and I will come back with a price and confirm your date. Collection in Peterborough is free; local delivery is priced in your quote.
From the oven
Hot cross buns
Piped by hand, then glazed while they're still hot. Spiced and fruited.
Cinnamon buns
Spiralled and spiced. Iced warm.
Cream-filled choux puffs
For the table on Easter Sunday.
Cakes
Orange cake with fresh orange zest buttercream
Zest in the sponge and the buttercream, so it tastes of the fruit.
Spiced carrot, cinnamon and pineapple cake
Dense and properly spiced, and I bake it vegan too.
Hand-piped cupcakes
Decorated for the day. Minimum 24 cupcakes.
Savoury
Lamb sausage rolls
Lamb with rosemary and garlic. Frozen too, if you'd sooner bake them yourself.
Beef, chicken and vegetarian pies
Hand-crimped, and they feed a bank holiday properly.
Buns worth the wait
A hot cross bun should be soft, heavily spiced and full of fruit, and the cross should be piped on by hand. Mine get their glaze the moment they come out, which is the difference between a bun that shines and one that looks like it has been sitting in a bag. They go stale the way good bread does, quickly, so I bake them the day before you collect them.
Cakes for the long weekend
Easter Sunday tends to be the one day in spring when the whole family sits down together. The orange cake with fresh zest in the sponge and the buttercream suits it, and so does the spiced carrot with cinnamon and pineapple, which I also bake vegan and is usually the first to go. Cupcakes decorated for the day work well for a table full of children.
Savoury, for the day nobody wants to cook
Good Friday and Easter Monday are pie days. Sausage rolls and pies can go home frozen, so you can bake them when the house fills up. That is the only sensible way to feed people over a bank holiday.
Easter 2026
Hot cross buns, glazed while they're warm.
Write to me with what you would like, how many you are feeding and the date you want it. I will confirm the lot and send a price. Seasonal orders are taken in small numbers so everything is baked in the week you collect it.
Easter ordersEaster questions
Can I order hot cross buns in Peterborough?
Yes, by the batch, made to order and baked the day before you collect them. The crosses are piped by hand and the buns glazed hot. Ask two to three weeks before Easter, because the batches are finite.
Do you make vegan Easter cakes?
Yes. Three cakes are baked vegan: vanilla, chocolate and carrot, all iced with vanilla buttercream made with vegan butter. Ask me about anything else and I'll tell you honestly what I can make vegan properly.
