What goes in the box
A treat box is built from these three lists. Tell me the split and any flavour the person you're sending it to would walk past, and I'll pack around it.
Brownies and blondies
Plain brownies
Fudgy in the middle, papery on top.
Double chocolate brownies
The plain brownie with chocolate chunks folded through the batter.
Triple chocolate brownies
Dark, milk and white chocolate, all in the same square.
Blondies
The brownie's buttery cousin, chewy and vanilla-led.
White chocolate blondies
Blondies with white chocolate melting into them as they bake.
Caramel and sea salt brownies
Caramel rippled through, with sea salt over the top.
Cake slices
Sliced Lemon Loaf Cake with fresh lemon zest and lemon glaze
Thick slices of lemon loaf, the zest through the cake and the glaze on top.
Banana Bread with Walnut
Dense, sweet banana bread with walnuts through the crumb. Contains walnuts.
Cookies
Vanilla and lemon zest butter cookies
Butter cookies with real vanilla and fresh lemon zest through the dough.
Oatmeal and raisin cookies
Chewy in the middle, with the oats still doing something.

How a treat box is put together
You pick roughly what you want in it and I fill the box from the three lists above. Most people ask for a mix and leave the choosing to me, which I am happy to do if you tell me one thing they love and one thing they would not eat. Everything is baked for the order, so the box arrives made the way you asked.
A gift that doesn't need anyone to be in
The box is designed around the standard UK letterbox and posts like a large letter, so it lands on the mat while they are at work. Write me a message and I'll tuck it in with the bakes. There is never an invoice in a gift box.

Every box carries a full ingredient and allergen label to UK requirements, with a best-before date on it, so you know exactly what you are eating and when to eat it by.

What is in a letterbox treat box?
A mix of brownies, thick-cut cake slices and cookies, chosen from Sploffin's letterbox menus and packed flat in one slim box. You choose the split, or tell me what they like and I'll pack it for you.
Can I send a treat box as a gift with a message?
Yes. Add your message when you order and it goes in the box. Gift boxes never contain an invoice.
Can you avoid a particular ingredient?
Tell me what to leave out and I'll pack around it where I can. Everything is baked in a home kitchen where all fourteen major allergens are present, so for a severe allergy, talk to me before you rely on the box.
Can I get a treat box delivered next day?
Yes, on a day you book. Choose DPD next day at checkout and any Tuesday to Friday at least three days ahead: I bake for that date and hand the box to DPD the day before, and its next-day service carries it for your chosen day, to mainland UK. Royal Mail 1st Class is the cheaper choice for a box that fits the letterbox.
Can a treat box be delivered the same day?
No. Everything is baked to order for the day it travels, so there is no shelf of ready boxes to send the moment you order. The soonest is a booked day from three days ahead, by DPD next day to mainland UK or Royal Mail 1st Class anywhere in the UK.
How long does a treat box last?
At their best within five days of arriving, and the best-before date on the label is the one to follow. Keep the box closed, or move them to an airtight tin, somewhere cool and dry; they do not need the fridge.
Can I send these to several people, or order for a company?
Yes. The checkout takes one address per order, so for a few people place an order each, each with its own handwritten card. For a longer list or a company thank you, email me the addresses and what you would like in each, and I will price the whole run at once. For staff birthdays, the Birthday Book books the whole year in one payment.
Boxes are baked to order in Peterborough and posted anywhere in the UK. If you are local and would rather collect, that is the pastries and pies side of the kitchen.
