Something delicious is almost out of the oven.

Sploffin is a small-batch bakery in Peterborough, built on generational recipes passed through the years and unreasonable amounts of real butter. Small batches. When it’s spoken for, it’s gone.

Still building this, openly

The shop is already real and orders go through today: pies and sausage rolls, cupcake boxes and letterbox gifts, plus cakes made to order. The pop-ups follow, and a few pages are still being written as I go. If anything looks half-finished it probably is, so tell me and I will sort it. Go to the shop

Handmade from scratch, with love.

Fresh ingredients, small batches, and the time it actually takes. The way I was taught.

  • Sliced cranberry and walnut loaf, whole berries showing through the crumb
  • A full batch of glazed buns on parchment, fresh out of the oven
  • A batch of hot cross buns with piped crosses, still joined, cooling on a wire rack
Gingerbread and festive spices styled for Christmas

Christmas 2026

Christmas, spoken for early.

Rum-infused fruit cake, yule log, spiced mince pies, pastelles and cookies, made to order for collection, with the letterbox bakes posted through your door. Orders open 1 October and the dates run from 1 November, with the day of your choosing.

(the family fruit loaf does not believe in small portions)

The bakery

A small-batch bakery in Peterborough, one pop-up at a time.

Sploffin is a small-batch bakery in Peterborough, and the baker is me. I work from generational recipes in a registered home kitchen, with real butter and real vanilla, and I sell two ways: pop-ups of fresh pastries, pies and bakes, and celebration cakes made to order.

How the pop-ups work

Before each pop-up I put up a short menu: pies and sausage rolls, buns, cake by the slice, cookie boxes. You order and pay online, then collect from the pop-up in Peterborough. I bake to the order list just for the day, plus a small number of extras sold first come, first served on the day. Collection is free, and the letterbox gifts and cupcake boxes on the shop pages are posted to your door by Royal Mail or DPD.

They start in Peterborough, and where they go next depends on who asks. If you run a shop, a gym, community space or an office full of people who would appreciate warm buns, or you simply know the right spot, suggest a location. Every request goes on the list and the next location may be yours.

A cake maker in Peterborough, taking orders now

If you need a cake maker in Peterborough for a birthday, a wedding or something in between, that side of the kitchen is already open. Write to me with the date and how many you're feeding, and I'll come back with a firm quote. The pop-ups start Nov–Dec 2026 with the Christmas menu, and the Pop-Up List hears first: first pick of the first menu, and 10% off your first order when you join the list.

(the house rule: the people who show up early eat best)
