The story
It started in my grandmother's kitchen in Trinidad.
Hi, I'm Alana 👋 I was born in Trinidad & Tobago, and my grandmother catered the occasions that mattered — weddings, birthdays, Christmas. From about twelve I was at her side learning, and by fifteen I was taking orders of my own: cookies and cakes, pastelles and black cake at Christmas, helping pay the bills one bake at a time.
Sploffin is that kitchen, carried on. I love making beautiful, delicious things — it's my favourite kind of fun — and every bake is a chance to pass a little happiness along. That's what a taste of home means: home is a real place.
